Hi Andrew, Shishito peppers are quite different from the long hot green peppers. Shishito peppers are generally smaller, and sweet in flavor. Long hot green peppers, on the other hand, can vary from mild to fiery hot. Shishito peppers are also 2 or 3 times more expensive than the long hot green peppers and generally harder to find. Shishito peppers are delicious, especially when scorched and pan fried, (like how Padron peppers are cooked in Spain) with a bit of coarse sea salt sprinkled over them. Good luck and hope you have a bumper crop!
